How to get to Vienna?
Well first of all I would suggest to check - checkfelix.com for flights, they often have very good deals for cheap flights.
How to get to the City from the Airport?
There are two (or four if you consider taking a Cab or have a Car2Go membercard) Options:
The first one is taking the CAT(City Airport Train) into the City, this is a train that will bring you in like 15 Minutes to Landstraße - Wien Mitte. This costs you 11€ One Way or 16€ with a return ticket.
The other option is taking the Schnellbahn Line: S7, it's a somewhat cheaper solution but takes about 30 Minutes to the station Landstraße - Wien Mitte. This costs you two singletickets since you ride in two different zones. Both tickets cost together 4,40€.
What makes the Schnellbahn option much cheaper is that you can use your second singleticket to go further from Landstraße-Wien Mitte to the location/your Apartment etc., while if you take the Cat you would have to buy another Single-Ticket for 2,20€ to travel from Landstraße-Wien Mitte.
How to get from Landstraße - Wien Mitte to the location?
Well, first of all you'll need a singleticket for 2,20€ to continue your journey. In the station there is the Metro-Line U3 (the orange one). Take that one to Westbahnhof (direction Ottakring). At Westbahnhof you once again have to change to the U6 (the brown one). With the U6 you go one stop to Burggasse-Stadthalle (direction Floridsdorf).
The Location is a 5-10 minute walk from the exit upfront of that station (Burggasse - Stadthalle)
Where do I stay?
Airbnb.com has some pretty cheap options. Check the districts Ottakring, Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and Josefstadt - those are all pretty close to the location with the first two beeing the cheaper ones. There are plenty apartments for about 15-25€/night and you (likely) have the entire place for yourself (and your friends).
